This rare 95 acres (more or less) parcel of freehold land, comprised in three adjoining lots, attractively suitable for commercial farming or inland eco-tourism resort development has come into market for the first time.
The entire land is vacant, without any improvements and never been farmed. The land contour is mixture of hilly and flat land, part of it runs along the bank of Sigatoka River. Hill slopes have gentle gradient and cultivable. The terrain is well suited for crop farming and livestock farming.
The Ministry has identified and recommended following forms of agriculture:
(a) Crop Farming: Sugarcane, Citrus and Fruit Trees, Pineapple, Pawpaw, Vegetables and Pulses, Root Crops (Cassava, Kumala, Yams), Ginger, Turmeric.
(b) Livestock Farming : Sheep, Goats, Pigs, Poultry
The said land is surrounded by farms, farmers grow and supply fruits and vegetables for exporters (at gate collection) or deliver to local markets.
There is presence of eco-tourism activities along Sigatoka River and coupled with scenic beauty of the river and surrounding views, the land can be developed as an inland tourism resort. Concept designs have already been drawn for this purpose and can be made available, if required.
Pumped water supply is available from the river and fresh water from constructed boreholes. There is supply of electricity to the area and requires to be connected to site.
